My daughter went as Hermione this year and this tie really completed the costume perfectly. I was surprised when it arrived to find that it is really great quality. While the color might be ever so slightly off, it doesn't negatively affect the costume at all.

If you know someone that likes Harry Potter so much they like to dress like the character they need this tie. My son (8) put together an outfit and it looks great. The tie is a normal tie and can be worn on any dressy occasion. He wears his outfit to church (without the robe).

You can get 100% silk ties with more accurate coloring over at Alivan's. For $25. Or you can pay $9 for this tie. It's kind of a wine-red color, not bright red, but not purple either. It seems well made enough for my son to play dress up and to wear on Halloween. Plus, his dad will teach him how to make a Windsor knot! Very cool.

This tie is excellent match for the Harry POtter Gryffindor Deluxe robe and scarf, colors are perfect, dard burgandy, not purple as some have stated.
